How to Avoid Overeating While Doing Intermittent Fasting?
Overeating is something that can happen with IF.
There is really no food that is off limits.
IF teaches you to eat a certain way, in a new lifestyle and does not abolish food groups or beverages. You are free to eat whatever you like. Tons of people actually eat the same way as they did when they were overweight but because the way they eat is different, they are dropping pounds crazy fast.
Because of this, overeating is common and a big intermittent fasting mistake. Keep in mind, just because you are doing IF, does not give you the go ahead to overeat and see if you can get away with it.
Yes, you can eat larger meals, you can do OMAD, you can eat whatever you want really, when doing intermittent fasting, but you still should be at a caloric deficit to lose weight and burn fat.
Eating Nutritious Foods
Eating nutrient-dense foods is encouraged. A bit mistake of IF is NOT eating enough nutritious foods like fruits, vegetables, lean protein, healthy fats, and other nutritious foods to keep you satisfied and full.
Drinking Plenty of H2O
Drinking plenty of fluids especially water, is what you want to do while you are intermittent fasting.
Water helps keep you hydrated, keeps you full, fights off hunger, and encourages healthy lifestyle and weight loss. More water.

Tracking Your Calories
As mentioned above, you don’t wanna overeat when you do IF.
When I first started doing intermittent fasting, one of the things that helped me stay on track was counting calories. I use the nifty app My Fitness Pal which is totally free.
They even have a Facebook group for support and encouragement.
It’s so easy to overeat.
Naturally, you should eat fewer calories because you are eating in a shorter eating window than previous to IF, for most folks.
Eat Enough Food
There is a fine line between eating enough and overeating.
This is a trick that my husband actually told me, that helped him drop 40 pounds on IF.
You have to eat enough before you start your fasting window because if you don’t, you are gonna be hurtin, and you may get pretty hungry.
What hubby did was right before his fasting window started, about an hour before, he’d eat the last meal of the day, and it was a hearty, large meal. This kept him satiated and full with no problems during his fasting window.
Because when you are on your fast, you wanna hang on and not get pushed over the edge because you’re starving.
Go Slow and Steady
If you just started doing intermittent fasting, you might be tempted to go all in on OMAD or 16+ hour fasts but it can be too much too soon.
You want to be successful and it is ok go with shorter fasts in the beginning and build up to a longer fast over time.b
In the beginning, it’s important to start slow and take your time. You can make adjustments and work your way from there.
