Before we dive into these fat burning snacks, lets give some background on what exactly the ketogenic (or keto) diet is.
The ketogenic diet is a low-carb, moderate protein, and high-fat diet. The goal of the diet is to get your body into fat burning mode, called ketosis, so that you are burning fat for energy, instead of burning glucose.
It’s really neat and you’ll love it because you’ll be eating fat to burn fat.
Fat has gotten a bad rap in the past but it can actually help you get healthier and lose weight.
8 Fat Burning Snacks to Help You Lose Weight
The general premise here is that some of these snacks are quick eats. You can grab and go with them. While others may need some prep.
Both are a great addition to your diet to help you lose weight and burn fat.

1. Filled Avocados
Fill avocados with cottage cheese, cheese, or a little unsweetened peanut butter. The pairing might seem unlikely but it’s quite tasty and great for burning fat.
I love absolutely love avocados and they are a fat filled vegetable that contains healthy fat.
You can get the nutrients your body needs while enjoying a tasty snack.
Slice an avocado in half and fill the empty space left by the seed with the good stuff: PB, cottage cheese, or cheese, around 1-2 oz. or so.
Add a little kick with cinnamon or cayenne pepper.
2. Deviled Eggs
I have to say, this one personally is not my favorite but if you LOVE deviled eggs like my husband does, you will adore this snack.
There are a ton of different ways you can prepare these things, which means you can get really inventive with this snack, eating it every week and never getting bored.
3. Pork Rinds
Yep, these guys made the list.
They are crunchy, satisfying and help you burn fat like crazy. Really good for a ketogenic diet snack.
They have zero carbs, and are filled with protein.

4. Jalapeno Poppers

These things are delish. Spicy, savory, and can be dressed up in so many ways.

5. Pepperoni and Cheese
Or, turkey and cheese, or salami and cheese. Yum. Meat and cheese goes very well together. You’ll be super satisfied and go to town on this tasty treat.
6. Pumpkin Seeds
Uh huh, those seeds you get from the gas station. Be careful with these because too many of them (like bags and bags) can put you in the bathroom. Overall, they are super tasty, satisfy that need for a crunchy, protein-rich snack.
I eat these all year round.
